Hi, I’m Carlos Toledo, a Texan at heart who somehow traded barbecue smoke for Finnish snow. These days, I call Finland home, where I blend creativity, technology, and business into everything I do. I’m also working with Corporate News to get an internal news channel going, a way to keep teams informed, engaged, and connected across projects and departments. Fast-paced, challenging, and full of surprises, it’s been one heck of a ride, from managing operations under the Texas sun to building international networks across Europe and Latin America.

I’ve always been the kind of leader who asks “why not?” instead of “why.” As VP of Sales and Operations, I led teams that doubled sales at Valero, opened operations in California while at Netco, and later expanded into new markets in Spain and Mexico. I didn’t just focus on numbers, I built strong relationships, empowered trusted teams, and cultivated long-term partnerships that made growth real and sustainable.

One of my favorite stories comes from a trade fair in Madrid. I was representing Artome, surrounded by the buzz of the SIMO event. Within hours, what started as casual conversations over coffee turned into potential deals, new distributor relationships, and a network that kept growing. It wasn’t luck, it was connecting, listening, and making people feel that I genuinely believed in what we were building together. That’s the part I love most about what I do: turning strangers into collaborators and ideas into results.

Of course, not every moment is perfectly planned. Once at a trade fair, I found myself trying to sell a device to a visually impaired academy. The situation was a little awkward, but I smiled, cracked a joke about “technology seeing the world differently,” and carried on. The audience laughed, the conversation turned productive, and we ended up making valuable connections anyway. I learned that a little humor and adaptability can go further than any pitch deck.

I’m also endlessly curious. Alongside business and strategy, I’ve explored cybersecurity, VFX, game development, and marketing, and I still get excited about learning something new. I once spent an entire weekend tweaking a rolling sphere in Unity just to make it “feel” right when it landed. My friends think I’m crazy; I call it passion for the details.

Finland has taught me a lot, patience, precision, and the beauty of quiet moments (though I’ll admit, I still talk more than most Finns). The contrast between my Texas energy and Finland’s calm rhythm keeps me balanced, coffee helps, too, and the occasional chaos from my kids’ loud “background music” keeps life interesting.

At the heart of it all, I’m driven by curiosity, creativity, and integrity. Whether I’m leading a team, building a strategy, or exploring the next big thing in tech, I bring energy, loyalty, and a little Texas humor to every challenge, and if you’re lucky, some Texas brisket.
